Longridge Skatepark Group

Who we are and what we are about.

Group comprises of- Sarah Hicks, Andrea Dixon, Judith Dixon, Joy Roberts -Treasurer, Rob Cowell, Jess Hall, Gareth Park, Ryan Walsh, Chris Black, Phil Gornall (webmaster) and help and photography from Adam Hicks.

The group was originally set up to campaign and fundraise for the park to be built in the first place. That hurdle is now overcome and we now work together as a team of committed volunteers to provide as much as we can for our local skaters.

Skate Competition- This began as a drunken plan to get some djs down on the skatepark. It evolved last year into our first amazingly successful competition with a very high standard of competitors from all over the North West of England. This year the competition is back by popular demand and promises to be bigger and better with some incredible prizes from our generous sponsors.

Skateboarding tuition- The group have raised funds to put Rob and Chris through some courses to enable them to offer skateboarding tuition to other park users. This will develop with the aim of eventually having all our own safety equipment and the facilities to offer courses and workshops to those who are inspired by some of the better skaters that use our park.
